Boasting a gorgeous 0.40ct round brilliant cut diamond, this handmade ring is a one-of-a-kind antique beauty. 15ct gold is a special, collectable gold, only made for a short period of time between 1880s-1930s. This ring was made by Australian jeweller William Kerr from Sydney.
William Kerr. Trained as a watchmaker, about 1857 he established a small jewellery business with his two older brothers on Palmer Street, Sydney, Australia. In 1863, following the death of his brothers, William Kerr went into a partnership with Frederick Morris at 68 William Street, Sydney, Australia. Between 1864 and 1875, he worked for Hardy Bros before establishing his first shop at 574 George Street, opposite St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney. In 1882, Kerr opened a second shop on King Street and in 1883, his principal business was relocated to 544 George Street, Sydney opposite the Town Hall.
