This one of a kind ring features exquisite hand crafted Pietra Dura 'Lily of the Valley' flowers, with expert hand engraving on the band, and is handmade in the sought-after 15ct gold. Pietra Dura is the term for inlaying stones to create designs. We see this style often used in antique brooches and pendants, but seldom in rings, making this piece even more collectable. The Pietra Dura centrepieve measures 9mm x 7mm. The ring is in remarkably good condition, appearing to have been stored in a safe place for most of its life.
15ct gold was only manufactured between the dates of 1851 - 1931, making it a rare keepsake.
This ring is hallmarked with makers mark W.G.M, the Chester assay mark and 15ct 625 purity marks. Unfortunately, the date hallmark has been skewed due to a previous resize, however we do know that this piece is characteristic of the late 1800s.
